Blur Bassist Hints At Reunion The side projects, Gorillaz and The Good, the Bad and the Queen, the solo careers, and the many collaborations have all been nice side dishes to the colorful centerpiece made up of the members of Blur but getting back to their original line-up is not only the avid Blur fan’s secret wish — turns out bassist Alex James is willing to get down on his hands and knees to make it happen. James recently taunted long-time Blur fans by revealing his current communication with Coxon in an interview with The BBC, "I've been talking to Graham a bit and hopefully I can persuade him. I'm going to have to beg him, though." Since Coxon left Blur in 2002, he has enjoyed a successful solo career and has repeatedly voiced his disinterest in ever re-joining the band. It’s going to take some begging but it will be well worth it to get the band back to a nice, even number. According to James, "I've got high hopes that Blur will have a happy four-piece ending," he explains, "I think it would be a shame if it didn't, really.” | ![]() |
