The 88, Kennedy to Play Giampino Arson Benefit To benefit Ali and Scott Giampino, a music-industry family recently rocked by a tragic arson attack, local musicians are uniting for a benefit concert at the Echo in Los Angeles on Tuesday, November 16. The 88, Kennedy, All Hours and Adam Goldman from Bedroom Walls will be covering classic albums in their entirety, with proceeds going to help the Giampinos recover some of the 95 percent of their belongings that were destroyed in the fire. Adam Goldman from Bedroom Walls, whose lush, romantic rock is self-described as "romanticore", will begin the night by performing the classic Belle and Sebastian album If You're Feeling Sinister. Next up, newcomers All Hours will tackle the Bowie-produced Lou Reed solo album Transformer, before local psych(o?) rockers Kennedy will do their version of the Ramones' debut album. LA heroes the 88 will finish the night with a rendition of Bob Dylan's Highway 61 Revisited. Scott and Ali Giampino are Seattle based music industry veterans who have worked with Touch and Go Records and the Billions Corporation, in addition to artists such as Neko Case, Joanna Newsom, Calexico and the Black Heart Procession. Tickets for the event at 7 dollars and can be purchased on www.ticketweb.com. | ![]() |
