Every now and then a song comes along that pricks the senses in such a way that one must immediately stop whatever one is doing to indulge more fully, and to start the search to discover from whence it came. Jonathan Bates has been recording under the moniker Mellowdrone for a few years now, and anyone who managed to souvenir a copy of his limited edition mellowdrone ep is surely a proud owner to this day.

For the rest of us, we have the privelege of discovering Mellowdrone phase two. Now with band and a beautiful collection of songs forthcoming - entitled Box - his emergence is sure to reveal the genius that has been only glimpsed thus far.
